The Kelly Rossum Modern Big Band returns to the Ferguson Center with the premier of his exciting new composition Ghost Forests. This new suite for big band explores the terrible beauty of climate change, reflects current environmental realities, challenges our own perspectives, and also leaves us with bright hope for the future. Band leader and founder Kelly Rossum is an international trumpet artist, improviser, and composer. Tonight, he will present music for a full, modern jazz ensemble featuring some of the top jazz musicians on the East Coast, including Nii Akwei Adoteye, Sharel Cassity, Jason Scott, Jason Arce, Jeff Smith, Mark Oates, Steven Cunningham, Craig Taylor, Duane Smith, Toby Whittaker, Reggie Pace, Shannon Gunn, Dandrick Glenn, Weldon Hill, Eldon Sully, Cameron Ralston and Scott Clark. A pre-concert talk and lobby event are included in the ticket price.
